The 2024 CrossFit Open at CFC
IMPORTANT NOTE: This info will affect everyone at CFC, not just the folks that register. So whether you decide to register or just watch, make sure to read this!
Hey friends! It’s that time again… the 2024 Open is almost upon us! This year’s Open kicks off on Thursday, February 29th. Just like last year, this event will be three weeks long, with fun, challenging workouts each week. Also as in years past, these workouts will feature a full set of modified options (Rx, Scaled, & Foundations) so that everyone can participate.
If you know you’re in and want to cut to the chase, here’s the registration link:
If you’re not familiar with the Open, this video is a great place to start:

The Open is for everyone!
It’s completely normal to feel unsure if you’ve never done it before, but it really is a lot of fun, and you’ll be glad you took a risk and jumped in. Join us!
Whether you’re registered for the Open or not, things will move a little differently here at CFC during the Open, especially on the weekends. Here’s the flow for the three weeks of the Open (2/29 to 3/18):
Each week on Thursday afternoon at 3:00p Eastern, the Open workout for that weekend will be announced via live stream on the Open website. Don’t worry if you miss it; we’ll post it to SugarWOD shortly after.
Then, here’s how the weekend will play out:
Friday (all classes) – ✅
The Open workout for the week will be up on the board as the posted WOD. This is your first chance to get the Open workout done.
Saturday 8:30am & 10:00am – ✅
The Main Event! Saturday mornings will be the best time to get the Open workout done. Standards will be explained at the start, and we’ll run organized heats until everyone has gotten a chance to do the workout. Everyone is welcome, including folks that aren’t registered for the Open, and spectators too!
Sunday 10am – ❌
Regular non-Open WOD. The Coach on duty will be leading class and will not be available to judge. No Open workouts during Sunday morning class.
Sunday 3pm-5pm – ✅
Open Gym will be available for folks that missed Friday & Saturday and still need to get the Open workout done. This will be less structured than the Saturday morning session; we won’t run heats, but we’ll do everything we can to get everyone through the Open workout that still needs to do it.
Monday (all classes) – ❌
Regular non-Open WOD. The Coach on duty will be leading class and will not be available to judge. No Open workouts during Monday classes, no exceptions.
To summarize and emphasize…
